Sam King
Samuel V. King became Vice President of RJN Investigations, Inc. SIU & Program Management Division in 2012.  As such, Mr. King will have direct management of the Program Management Unit, a division that provides specialized programs for clients, including Account Management, and Anti-Fraud Program Services.  Sam brings RJN Investigations, Inc. over 26 years of experience as a professional investigator, investigations manager, and investigation executive.
Prior to joining RJN Investigations, Inc., Mr. King formerly held executive leadership positions with a national investigations firm, where he established the firm's Special Investigation Unit and several other business units nationwide.  He was also the former Director of Field Operations and S.I.U. for a national insurance company, where he created and implemented the company's investigation and anti-fraud programs.  Sam's S.I.U. team received national recognition in numerous trade publications, including The Journal of Commerce and The National Underwriter.  Additionally, the California Workers' Compensation Institute recognized his team as the leader in insurance fraud fighting efforts and identified the unit as the most proactive Special Investigative Unit in the nation.  Sam's contributions and leadership in fraud-fighting efforts in his company's S.I.U. program earned him the Liberty Mutual "Chairman's Award," the highest honor given to an employee within the entire company.
Mr. King was a founding member of the California Department of Insurance Fraud Division’s Anti-Fraud Advisory Committee and was the former Chairman of the CA DOI Committee on S.I.U. Training.  He is also a former Chairman of the California Workers' Compensation Institute's (CWCI) Anti-Fraud Committee.  Sam is a nationally recognized speaker and author on topics in the insurance and investigations arena.
 
Mike Chuck
Mike has been employed with R.J.N. since 1996 and has held the position of Surveillance Director since 1997.  His role is to insure the proper scheduling of subrosa cases as instructed by clients, in addition to maintaining the highest level of investigative standards for the field investigators. Mike directly manages the case supervisors who assist in the overall task of developing pre-surveillance data, investigative plans, monitoring daily field operations, reviewing surveillances for quality, and assessing our work product to make additional recommendations to clients for the defense of a claim.
 
Mark Fava
Mark joined R.J.N. in 1999 after enjoying a career in law enforcement in which he gained investigative experience as a Special Agent with the F.B.I. National Security Divisions of the Miami and Los Angeles Field Offices, a Deputy Sheriff with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, a Police Officer in New Hampshire, and a Correctional Officer in Collier County, Florida. Mark, who was a certified Firearms Instructor, EVOC Driving Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and Non-Lethal Weapon Instructor at the San Diego County Regional Law Enforcement Police Academy and a certified firefighter in the State of Florida, oversees our Background Investigations Unit.    
 

Michael A. Gomez
Vice President of Business Development since 2007, Mr. Gomez comes to our company with over 20 years of experience in the Insurance industry.  He is the former Vice President -Western Region for GlobalOptions, Inc., a National Investigation Company.  During his tenure at GlobalOptions, he was responsible for the operation of this territory, which included 3 offices and over 75 investigators throughout the Western U.S.   Prior to this, he directed the Western Region of Confidential Business Resources, formerly Gallagher Bassett Investigative Services, which was sold to GlobalOptions, a publicly traded company in 2005. He played a major role in establishing a National SIU unit for a major TPA.  Mr. Gomez has been a guest speaker at numerous national and local conferences on Fraud and SIU topics.

Mr. Gomez has a B.A. in Business Administration from Whittier College and is a licensed Private Investigator in California and Texas

 
Miriam Lawrence,
Miriam as been employed with RJN Investigations, Inc., since July of 1989. As Vice President of Operations, Miriam provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the organization, with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability as well as day-to-day leadership and management to all company operations functions.

She manages organization operations, by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies. In addition, she implements programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit. She provides direction and structure for operating units.

Miriam is responsible for implementing improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization.

It is her task to develop and create strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals, provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees.

Fred Martino
Senior Manager/Administrator for RJN Investigations since 2002.  Fred came to us after 25 years as a law enforcement professional where he served both locally and statewide.  He worked 10 years as a patrol officer, investigator, field training officer, and watch commander for the Laguna Beach Police Department.  He then joined the California Department of Justice as a Special Agent where he excelled as an expert in narcotics enforcement and surveillance techniques.  Fred was promoted and assigned as the Department of Justice Special Agent Academy Coordinator where he taught his specialty to law enforcement officers nationwide.  During his DOJ career Fred managed several drug and violent crime task forces throughout the State.  He is a Medal of Valor recipient and holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Management, along with a lifetime teaching credential from the State of California.
 

Ty Montoya
Ty began his career in law enforcement and served several years in the Community Response Unit where the focus was on career criminals. Many of Mr. Montoya’s duties were undercover, conducting buy-bust operations. In his law enforcement career, Mr. Montoya was awarded the Medal of Valor by California State Senator Ruben Ayala and also the Police Star of Merit Medal for Bravery.

Mr. Montoya, looking for a safer career, chose RJN Investigations in 1989. His leadership and reputation is well known throughout the insurance defense and legal communities. Mr. Montoya is the V.P. of Special Projects and manages our key client accounts. Additional responsibilities include management of our SIU Program (Insurance Company Clients) and management of our AOE/COE Department. Mr. Montoya is an accomplished trainer and lectures regularly to senior claims personnel and other audiences in the industry. He has been an invited speaker/lecturer with organizations such as the Southern California Fraud Investigator’s Association, Employer’s Fraud Task Force, Orange County District Attorney’s Office, and the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority to name a few.

 

Robert Wood
Robert has been with RJN since 1994 and is responsible for maintaining the company’s computer network of over 50 workstations, 5 network servers, and administering our web site. He is also responsible for our telecommunications services and overseeing over 100 cellular devices. Robert’s other duties include equipping our field investigators with state of the art surveillance equipment, including all digital video cameras and new wearable hidden cameras.

Recently Robert was instrumental in setting up our streaming video servers. This new system allows clients to review video directly from their computers, without having to secure a DVD player. Video can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the client’s convenience.

Robert recently equipped our field investigators with new Smartphone’s, allowing for faster response to non verbal communications as well as the ability to stream video without the need for a computer. Robert also has the responsibility of keeping our staff trained on any new technology or software that the company implements, and has been invaluable in helping to maintain our high quality standard.
